Installation
WinRAR
If you use Windows, download and install WINRAR : WinRAR setup. If you use a Mac, you don't need to do anything.
REAPER
Download and install REAPER : http://www.cockos.com/reaper/download.php. Beware to choose your own system : Windows or Mac. For Windows, download the 32 bits version. For Mac, download the OSX 32 bits version.
Run REAPER, select the visual skin :
- Open menu Options > Themes
- Select "Default 3.0".
REAPER audio configuration
- Open menu Options > Preferences
- Browse Audio > Device
- If have a PC : if you have a professional audio interface select "Audio System": ASIO, otherwise leave WaveOut.
- If you have a Mac : if you have a professional audio interface select the name of your interface otherwise leave "Default audio system". Check the box "Request buffer size".
- If your soundcard has several ins and outs, make sure Input Device / Output Device match the ins and outs you will use. For a basic soundcard, leave it all to default.

Discover REAPER
Watch the first 2 videos for beginners : Beginner videos. You can also watch the next 2 videos but they are less important.
Train to record things as a test. Call me if you meet any problem (I'm the technical hotline :-).
Work on a project
Unzip
Download the project I'll send you by mail. Unzip the archive (ZIP or RAR). Open the project in REAPER (the RPP file).
Recording
Create and record the track. Do as many takes as you need to have a satisfying result. Beware : there must be absolutely no clipping.
You can mute some tracks if they bother you during recording. There will be a beat box you can use or mute : the first track in red.
Send the result
When you're ok with your takes, you can send it all :
- Open menu File > Clean project directory
- Select all files being listed
- Click "Remove selected files"
Save the project : File > Save Project
Create an archive with the project as it is now. This archive must contain the whole project folder. This will include several files.
Windows (with WinRAR) :
- right click on the folder
- Add to the archive "[name of the folder].rar"
Mac :
- right click on the folder
- compress "name of the folder"
